2nd to do list
Trees and a cabin!
made some simple trees and spread em like butta around the island using a particle system.
Learned about particle sys's from this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGGaKnFbK8o&feature=share&list=PL97600457A302BD11
Fun stuff.
To do
-make that island look less like ice cream. Give it a bump map and ice cap
-build a chimney for the cabin.
-give that chimney a lil smoke.
Do we need a white picket fence so nobody falls off that island into oblivion?

1st to do list
from a few days ago.
To do list...
1. create simple triangles for trees, no trunks
2. create simple rocks.
3. squish mountain top and put cabin on top.

House deconstruction
deconstructing and reconstructing the house
The creator wrote: "Newbie-Blender house, worked and sweated over this too long, 20245 vertices, I guess it's not the most professional modelling, but then again one has to start somewhere..."
Whoa scary!

Actually 1st to do list
steps
1. make coastline less pixelated using either scupture mode or just subdividing
2. add elements. find some of them on blendswap site to save time in modeling. Gotta love technology!
Ended up fooling around with add curve sapling add on in blender to generate a tree. They have presets for different types of trees but none for pines. Maybe I switch to a simple cone shape if theres too much processing lag.
Later
1. smoothed out the cliff edge and added a wishing well (linked to it from another blend file and made it into a proxy) seemed like the best choice instead of appending it. Didnt want it to get file heavy.

the floating island of ice cream
I wanted to create an enviroment. How real or cartoony is still unknown. The landscape in this video looks like its made of paper which is cool. Cartoony is easier and requires less work. It would feel mor e playful. Maybe a mix of real and cartoony.
I came up with these:
which sorta look like ice cream so far.
The final result of my project is going to be in video form. Animated. Possibly just a flyby or possibly framed as a play or shadowbox. I dunno.
The elements that I want in it so far are:
mountain
waterfall
windmill
wishing well
house or little cabin with chimney
tree
tire swing
bird/birds flying
happy sun with face
- its rays draped around a cloud
clouds
